Two special assistants to the Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, paid special visit to some orphanages in Ibadan during the last holiday season to share the joy of Christmas with the less-privileged children in the centres.

Hon Taofeek Olanihun and Miss Titilope Gbadamosi (both of the Community Relations Unit of the governor’s office, Ibadan) made donations of food items and other valuables at the facilities as they joined the occupants in merriment in the spirit of love and sharing that characterize the Christmas festivity.

While speaking to journalists after the visit, Olanihun said it was important to identify with the poor and the needy at all times without necessarily waiting for special seasons or events.

“It is our responsibility as human beings to put smile on the faces of our fellow beings as long as we are so privileged,” said Olanihun, who has a foundation with focus on sports.

Titilope, who is known for dedication to taking care of children with Down syndrome, said no child should be left out in the joy that Christmas brings.

“This season is for giving, love and warmth. We have come to spend time with this people to show them that regardless of their present state, they are loved and there’s hope for them too,” she added.
